Enrique Floresano exposes the importance that the body has had within the development of different Mesoamerican civilizations, as well as a formation of a historical identity as a result by their concept of the body. The author shows the differences between Olmec, Maya and Mexica cultures, also exposing their convergences within their mystic and divine conceptions. Bodily traits are revealed in every culture by their corresponding artistic expressions, such as sculpture, murals, monuments, constructions and codices.
